Competition starts Friday afternoon 4/15 @ 5 pm. for squads as scheduled on the SHOT5 website. Practice allowed on open traps; practice rounds $4.50. Competition starts at 8 AM Saturday 2/16 for squads scheduled on the SHOT5 site; Competition fee $12.00. Awards for top three teams and individuals. Concessions available on grounds. EMMETSBURG HOT SHOTS TRAP SHOOTING TEAM RECEIVES GRANT
2/02/2016 - The Emmetsburg, Iowa Hot Shots Trap Shooting Team has received grant funds from the MidwayUSA Foundation, a public charity working to provide financial support to youth shooting teams through its Team Endowment Account Program. The grant money will help pay for team expenses, such as ammunition, targets, entry fees, travel and more. MidwayUSA paid out $2,578,421 to 861 shooting teams in 2015! Over 3,000 youth shooting teams now have endowment accounts. The endowment total is around $79 million. Teams are eligible to apply for a grant once per year and can grow their Team Endowment Account through soliciting private donations, project earnings, and conducting fundraisers, which are matched 1:1. The MidwayUSA Foundation also offer items to active teams to use as fundraisers, such as unique firearms, optics, and knives. Local area Hot Shot supporters include the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Palo Alto County Pheasants Forever, and various Emmetsburg businesses and individuals.
